Storming the World with Musical Messages of the Lubavitcher Rebbe

It took 23 years to bring his vision to fruition, but Rabbi Ruvi New will be sharing the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s teachings through music in an all new album that is appropriately titled Storm the World.

Produced and arranged by Bentzi Marcus of 8th Day fame, Storm the World features 14 all new compositions performed by Rabbi New with guest appearances by Benny Friedman, Yossi Green, Bentzi Marcus, Eli Marcus and Shmuel Marcus. Rabbi New, the Chabad shaliach to East Boca Raton, began writing lyrics to perpetuate the Rebbe’s teachings shortly after his passing in 1994, and the songs carry meaningful messages with themes that will resonate with Jews worldwide.

Musical genres on Storm the World run the gamut, matching the mood of the varied compositions by Marcus, Yossi Green, Ari Goldwag, Chanale Fellig-Harel and Bob Remstein with lyrics by Rabbi New, Miriam Israeli and Larry Gates. While the songs all carry a strong Chabad undercurrent, their appeal is undeniably universal. The song Shisha Yamim reflects on the 50th anniversary of both the Six Day War and the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s tefillin campaign which was launched to tip the heavenly scales during the battle. Shliach is dedicated to the massive army of Chabad emissaries that have spread throughout the world, giving every Jew a place to call home no matter where they are located, while Nigun artfully portrays the power of music that allows listeners to soar to heavenly realms.

Buzz for the album has been extremely positive, with the Jewish music world giving rave reviews to the title track and The Match, which were both released several months ago.

“There is something here for everyone, to gain and be touched in a deep way,” said Rabbi New.

Storm the World is being distributed by Nigun Music and is available for purchase online, in Judaica stores and at www.stormtheworldproject.com
